My name is JoAnn Wirkkula and I'm from Hibbing, Minnesota. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember.
Most of what I have learned has been through trial and error or instructional books. My formal training has been art instruction at Proctor High School, various classes at the Range Creative Art Center and the Arrowhead Community College - Hibbing Campus.
John Cook, Louise Lundin, Joyce Guentzel, Jack Sholund, Judith Beaulieu, Terry Maciej, Ann Schnortz, Keith Thompson, Gail Peterson and Teresa Chudzik are among the artists I have studied under in a variety of media ranging from basic drawing, watercolor, printmaking, pastels, oils and scratchboard.
Primarily, I create commissioned and at times non-commissioned original artwork although prints of some pieces are also available. I enjoy working in watercolors, oils and pastels along with a variety of other media. I use only professional grade supplies that resist fading and discoloration over time.
Here at Wirks of Art, we keep costs down by eliminationg gallery and framing fees. On our comissioned pieces, we work closely with the client to ensure their ideas are incorporated into the work.
Thank you for visiting our site, feel free to contact us at any time, and enjoy the artwork in our online "Gallery". Thank you. JoAnn Wirkkula, Ownwer - Wirks of Art "Drawing from Your Memories" | | |
